Volt Delta awarded multi-year contract from eircom Ltd.
SUNBURY-ON-THAMES, UK, May 16, 2008: Volt Delta International, a subsidiary of US based Volt Information Sciences (NYSE: VOL), has been awarded a multi-year agreement from eircom Ltd in Ireland to supply its directory services platform. The Volt Delta solution will enable eircom to completely replace its existing infrastructure with the latest soft-switching technology from Volt Delta.
Volt Delta will supply its leading OASIS IP-based switching and contact centre system together with its 360 set of applications supporting eircom’s Directory Services including 11811 National Directory Enquiries, Golden Pages Talking, 11818 UK and 11818 International Directory Enquiries, Alarm Clock Call, Special Directory Enquiries and Minicom.
The integrated OASIS and 360 based solution will provide eircom with a completely modern and highly resilient infrastructure to underpin its services.
The OASIS and 360 product sets encompass a wide range of integrated systems and functionality. For eircom this includes the supply of the OASIS soft switch with media gateway supporting SS7 ISUP interconnect signalling, an IP based voice IVR system, integrated call and agent screen recording, billing CDR generation and SMS capability. The 360 high speed search engine will be loaded with both Irish telephone listings and Golden Pages listing information. Agents will also have integrated online access to a wide range of worldwide telephone listings using a service provided by LSSi Europe Ltd, a subsidiary company of the Volt group.
For the call centre agents the new OASIS IP-Station has a modern Windows look and feel, highly integrated access to all of the services and information needed to better serve eircom’s customers and helped further with the extended OASIS keyboard with dedicated keys for many common functions.
eircom’s new OASIS system also supports access to services for those customers with hearing impairment with the OASIS Relay product feature for text based phone support and relay type services.
As well as supply of systems, Volt Delta is also providing a comprehensive package of professional services for the project implementation and roll-out phases as well as full 24x7 support services.
Noel Hughes, managing director of Volt Delta International said, "We are delighted that eircom has selected Volt Delta after its extensive and in-depth selection process. We are very much looking forward to rolling out our solution in Ireland so that eircom can gain the benefits of using a modern, integrated IP-based platform. I am particularly pleased since eircom had a very wide set of requirements and our product set was more than capable of meeting these. I believe that with our flexible platform in place eircom will be able to face the future and more easily develop and deploy enhanced services in the years to come."
Gerry Culligan, Director Consumer Market, eircom said, “Before choosing Volt Delta for this major procurement we carried out extensive reference site visits to many of Volt Delta’s key customers around Europe and we were highly impressed by what we found. The system we have selected will allow us to move forward with our business of providing a wide range of information and assistance services to our customers and allow us to compete more effectively. One of the most significant benefits we see with the Volt Delta solution is that of a one-stop shop for the supply of all of the major systems needed across our Directory Enquiry business.”
