Volt Delta announces the release of 360 Ratings
SUNBURY-ON-THAMES/MUNICH, OCTOBER 17th, 2008: Volt Delta International, a subsidiary of US based Volt Information Sciences (NYSE: VOL), has announced the release of 360 Ratings, a complete solution allowing directory service providers to introduce consumer ratings into their Web and voice-based directory assistance and yellow page services.
By tapping into one of the most popular features of many of today’s Web 2.0 applications, Volt Delta’s 360 Ratings can help directory service providers modernise their services’ image, enhance the quality and depth of information they provide and ultimately foster greater customer loyalty.
Volt Delta’s 360 Ratings allows directory service providers to collect and map ratings from multiple third parties into their existing business listings or, alternatively, compile their own ratings by encouraging users of their services to rate the businesses they use.
It supports a wide range of rating types and formats, including overall ratings, sub-ratings in categories specific to certain businesses (e.g. “price” for restaurants), comments, tags, pictures, recommendations and the ability to recommend other users’ ratings. Ratings may be collected via customisable Web site forms and “buttons” or during customer interactions using speech recognition.
360 Ratings’ sophisticated algorithms make it possible to sort and filter business listings based on any or all the rating information contained in them. Rated listings may also be flexibly weighted to fit any need, including sorting within advertiser-paid content.
For highly intuitive use, 360 Ratings allows users to search for terms contained anywhere within a rating as well as combine these with any number of other search attributes, including location. To serve mobile users, 360 Ratings may be integrated with messaging solutions so that ratings can be included in SMS services or viewed on mobile Web sites.
Noel Hughes, managing director of Volt Delta International said, “We feel 360 Ratings will be an ideal bridge for many of our customers between the directory services niche and the broader search market at large, in which ratings, communities, social networks and other Web 2.0 features are playing an increasingly important role. Because directory service providers already possess a complete national database of businesses, we see them as having an inherent advantage over rating portals specialising in a single product such as hotels. 360 Ratings can help them leverage that advantage, modernise their services and ultimately generate greater customer loyalty.”
